In our high tech society, we believe it is more important than ever to encourage children to get outdoors and connect with the natural world to motivate them to care for our fragile planet. WWT’s tradition of inspiring young people, many visiting our centres on a school trip, is just as strong today as when Sir Peter Scott set up the organisation in 1946, with education being one of our core aims.

Because our formal learning visitors are so important to us, we’re looking for someone exceptional to lead this aspect of the charity’s work across all our UK wetland centres and sometimes beyond.  You will be responsible for leading on strategic development and you will relish the prospect of providing guidance and support for our committed teams of staff and volunteers who work with young learners. You’ll be a natural communicator, a self-starter, great at project management and well versed in learning work in a visitor attraction setting.  Ideally, you will have experience in an advisory role in a multi-site organisation.

The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) is a conservation charity that protects wetlands for wildlife and people. We conserve, restore and create wetlands. We are pioneers in saving wetland wildlife, both in the UK and around the world. At our 10 UK sites around a million visitors a year engage with wetland nature. We work internationally in key global wetland areas, balancing conservation with sustainable livelihoods and influencing national and international conservation policies.

In return for your hard work and dedication you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits including:
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing to 30 days after 5 years service)
- Contributory pension scheme (conditions apply)
- Life assurance
- Cycle to work scheme
- Free parking
- Free entry to all our centres

Appointment to this position is subject to the successful candidate receiving an enhanced disclosure and barred list check (child).
