About Us

The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) is the nation’s leading wetland conservation charity. We are pioneers in protecting wetlands for wildlife and people, both in the UK and around the world.

The Role

As the Head of Visitor Experience, Engagement & Learning, you will ensure a consistently excellent visitor experience is delivered across our ten wetland sites in the UK.

In this exciting role, you’ll provide strategic direction and oversee the delivery of engaging, on-brand experiences and school learning programmes that inspire our visitors.

Your duties will involve:
•Overseeing the Interpretation Design Manager, National Formal Learning Manager and volunteers
•Identifying how we can teach audiences and communicate our conservation message through our people, fixed exhibits and interpretation
•Leading the delivery of national programmes and events
•Ensuring the organisation focuses on understanding what our visitors want and need from their experiences
•Identifying ways that we can improve access to our sites
•Managing the Experience, Engagement & Learning budget

About You

To join us as the Head of Visitor Experience, Engagement & Learning, you’ll need:
•Experience gained in an organisation where visitors come to enjoy a day out and/or learn, such as an attraction or museum
•A track record of designing experiences that inspire visitors to engage with your organisation and cause
•Previous experience of promoting culture of viewing things from a visitor’s perspective
•Experience in the education sector
•Great influencing and communication skills
•A degree level qualification (or equivalent)

A post-graduate qualification in an educational or environmental related discipline, such as a PGCE, would be beneficial.
