Wetlands are a key life support system for our planet. To meet Sustainable Development Goals and stem global biodiversity loss, we need to dramatically shift the way that we treat and manage the world’s wetlands.

WWT is on a mission to do this, and we are recruiting a Senior Project Manager to lead projects that build wetland conservation capacity, empower local communities, and showcase best-practice nature conservation throughout the world. Our work prepares national governments for the challenges presented by climate change and builds networks of conservationists to share experiences and ideas for a better future.

Role Outline

This role will manage multi-stakeholder wetland conservation projects in our priority global areas, also advocating the wise-use of natural systems within local, national and regional decision-making. Immediate priorities will be to deliver integrated conservation and development projects in Madagascar, also coordinating capacity building projects for conservation managers, and facilitating resource mobilisation for national level conservation initiatives. The role will also influence and support wetland conservation and restoration in SE Asia and on the East-Asian Australasian Flyway.

About You

You will be passionate about securing resilient natural systems and care deeply about the success and impact of your work. You’ll stand up for what you believe in and have creative ideas for how to fund and deliver sustainable conservation work. We’re looking for someone who values a professional approach to managing projects and can communicate, and advocate for, their work to wide range of stakeholders. You must have experience delivering conservation projects in a developing world context and track record of work alongside local communities.

If this sounds like you, then the wetlands of the world need you. Come and join our diverse International Programme team dedicated to our vision of a world where healthy wetland nature thrives and enriches lives.

In return for your hard work and dedication you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits including:

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays increasing to 30 days after 5 years’
Contributory pension scheme (conditions apply)
Life assurance
Free car parking and secure bike storage areas
Cycle to work scheme
Free entry to all our centres
