We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who shares our passion for incredible customer service, to join the catering team at Slimbridge. This is a unique opportunity to work for a local conservation charity and popular visitor attraction. You will be required to work daytime shifts (no split shifts or night shifts) with a friendly and welcoming team in picturesque surroundings.
The role:
• Giving a warm welcome to every visitor to the trading environment, demonstrating exceptional standards of customer service
• Understanding the key centre highlights and experiences on offer to inform and enhance our visitors experience
• Gaining exceptional product knowledge and proactively upselling in order to maximise sales
• Actively work to minimise wastage with stock control measures and participate in stock handling through organising deliveries and assisting with stock takes
• Adhering to the WWTs cash handling procedures with effective use of the epos system
• Promote the WWT where ever possible in order to drive membership sales and adoptions
• Assist in all areas of the catering operation both within the restaurant and in our kiosks adhering to our standards and procedures at all timesWhat we are looking for:
• Previous experience within a catering environment is essential
• Minimum level 2 food hygiene certificate
• A provable passion for great customer service
• Someone able to adapt quickly to different roles
• The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE or equivalentWhat we can offer you:
• Daytime hours (we open 9:30-5pm, 7 days a week)
• You will be working 5 days from 7 on a rota basis. Weekend work is essential but is worked on a fair rota basis (no split shifts or night shifts)
• Beautiful surroundings – you’ll be based in the heart of the Wetland Centre (you get a great view of the flamingos from the restaurant!)
• On-the-job training is given, with opportunities to take part in food hygiene, customer service training and barista training
