Location: WWT Welney with hybrid working available
The Fens coastal plain is one of the UK’s most important wetland landscapes – what we call a Waterscape. WWT already plays a significant role in this Waterscape, through the management of WWT Welney and our work to recover the black-tailed godwit (https://www.wwt.org.uk/our-work/projects/black-tailed-godwits/), and together with our conservation partners we aspire to make it bigger, better and more connected for the benefit of wetland wildlife.

Role Outline
You will be responsible for driving forward the development and delivery of WWT’s vision for the Fens Waterscape. By building and maintaining close relationships with external organisations, land managers and local communities; keeping your finger on the pulse regarding new opportunities; and calling on expertise from across WWT, you will develop exciting partnership projects to achieve Waterscape objectives. These projects could range from large-scale floodplain, fenland or saltmarsh restoration to facilitating landowner collaboration: the opportunities are vast, and you will be play a big part in shaping our priorities and direction.
You will be a key source of knowledge and understanding on wetland landscape conservation within the organisation. You will be the trusted face of WWT to many key stakeholders within the Waterscape and work closely with our Communications, Policy and Advocacy teams to promote our work and push for wider change.

You will be an extremely committed person who cares deeply about the success and impact of your work. You’ll be enthusiastic about what you believe in and have creative ideas for how to fund and deliver sustainable landscape-scale conservation work.
You’ll be a real people person, able to nurture trusted relationships with colleagues in other teams and counterparts in other organisations. You’ll also be a great communicator, advocating your work successfully to wide range of stakeholders.
You’ll have experience in successfully delivering projects and understand the importance of a professional attitude in project management. You will enjoy working in an organisation with a strong “can-do” attitude that wants to make a difference and is willing to run with good ideas.
