An exciting opportunity has arisen at Slimbridge Wetland Centre to join the Living Collections Team working primarily with our Ectotherm collection, which sits within our Presentations section. We are proud to hold one of the largest amphibian collections within the UK with a diverse range of species to care for.
The Role
The successful candidate will join a dynamic presentations team with extensive experience among them. We are looking for someone to become a flexible part of the team caring for our amphibians and aquaria, and to deliver daily animal talks and presentations. The role will also, on occasion, involve working with our wetland mammal collection and our wetland bird demonstrations.
About You
Experience in working with amphibians is preferable, but any herpetology or aquatic experience would be valuable. A passion for educating people about the environment is a must and experience in public speaking would be welcomed.
About Us

Our sites attract over one million visitors every year, including day visitors and members.
In return for your hard work and dedication you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits including:
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays increasing to 30 days after 5 years’ service
- Contributory pension scheme (conditions apply)
- Life assurance
- Free parking
- Child care voucher scheme
- Cycle to work scheme
- Free entry to all our centres
