As a charity and visitor attraction, we seek to engage several audiences, in order to meet our goals. The ability to see where the visit proposition fits best in this messaging, understanding our overall strategic approach is key to this role.
About you
We’re looking for someone with confidence to develop and deliver a PR & Content Strategy specifically focussed on building awareness and the strength of our visit proposition. Previous experience in a charity is not essential but an ambition to deliver our goals for the benefit of wetlands and people is.
You will bring:
- Knowledge of best and current practices to our PR & Content activity.
- Experience of building strong relationships with the media as well as a strong and engaged following on social media.
- Adept knowledge of working collaboratively across our marketing teams and multi-sites.
- Superb organisational skills, and the clear sight and confidence to make sense of a complex picture.
You will join a warm and encouraging team, and a charity that contributes to a more sustainable future and the enjoyment of many who appreciate wildlife.
About us
The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust is one of the UK’s leading visitor attraction brands, operating 10 nature sites across the UK including household names such as Slimbridge, Martin Mere, and the London Wetland Centre.
A day out at one of our wetland centres is to be enjoyed, but WWT does far more than provide a day out in nature. We do conservation in communities around the UK and in hotspots around the world. Our cause is wetlands, and the power that lies where land and water meet – the power to store carbon, clean water, hold back flood and, most importantly, bring life.
Our wetland centres are the jewels in our crown. We may live in an increasingly digital world but we never underestimate the power of experience, where we can immerse our visitors in nature, and also with our work and our cause, by engaging all their senses.
We welcome one million people through our doors each year. For many it’s their first step towards a deeper love of nature. For others, their visit is part of a lifelong pattern interwoven with memories of school or friends or family.
