Our Llanelli Wetland Centre is looking for a Grounds Warden to assist in the day to day management of the grounds and in the detailed management of the captive animal population. This will include general horticultural duties including hedge cutting, strimming, pruning, chain saw use and maintenance of grassed areas by mowing and participating in daily general cleaning and tidying duties within all exhibit areas, as well as routinely updating relevant information on the ZIMS data base. Other duties will include assisting with duckery duties and maintenance of hides and other constructions.
The successful candidate will be educated GCSE standard (A-C) or equivalent with previous experience of working in a similar role / environment. A certificate in the safe of chainsaws is required and a certificate in safe use of brushcutters and herbicides would be an advantage.
First interviews will take place on the 2nd October 2014.
