As part of the Trust’s Management Board and reporting into the COO the Director of Conservation will provide strategic leadership to develop and deliver UK and international conservation programmes within WWT’s ambitious strategy.

With a professional, dynamic and growing team in place and a solid strategy and foundation of conservation programmes to build on, the main priority of this role will be to deliver key conservation outcomes making a difference to wetlands and the wildlife and people that rely upon them.  This is a challenging role demanding expertise in leadership, conservation programme management, relationship and partnership building, budget management and fundraising.

The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) is a conservation charity that protects wetlands for wildlife and people.  We conserve, restore and create wetlands, are pioneers in saving wetland wildlife, and inspire everyone to value what healthy wetlands can achieve for people and nature.  We demonstrate and offer practical and achievable solutions for reducing threats to and creating, restoring and managing wildlife-rich wetlands in the UK, and engage people with wetland nature at our UK sites, and increasingly where they live and work. We work internationally in key global hotspots and flyways where development pressure is most acute and impact on wetland nature the most damaging, balancing wetland conservation with sustainable livelihoods, and influence national and international wetland policies.

- Contributory pension scheme (conditions apply)
- Life assurance
- Free parking
- Child care voucher scheme
