This is a 5-month fixed term contract starting 1st May 2018.
We are looking to appoint an aviculturalist for a 5-month period to assist with the day-to-day operational aspects of WWT’s Conservation Breeding Unit (CBU) projects. The successful candidates will be based at WWT Slimbridge, where duties will include assisting with the care and monitoring of captive birds, including spoon-billed sandpiper, the maintenance and cleaning of CBU facilities and equipment, and vegetation management. The successful candidate will be expected to ensure high standards of biosecurity, animal welfare, animal husbandry and record-keeping.
Candidates must be enthusiastic self-motivated individuals passionate about wetland wildlife conservation with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an ambitious, selfless team.
