London Wetland Centre is looking to recruit a dedicated hard working Sous Chef who will oversee the operation of the catering department’s food outlets. This includes the Kingfisher Kitchen table service cafe and banquets for up to 150 guests. The Sous Chef will have a hands on approach within the kitchen, leading service and managing the day to day running of the kitchen. The role has sociable hours, but you are expected to work weekends and on certain evenings in line with business requirements.
You will hold an industry recognised qualification such as C&G 705 1 & 2 or suitable experience and hold a food hygiene certificate at level 3.
It is essential that you have experience within a similar catering operation and have banqueting experience. You will be used to a variety of catering styles and have practical experience of running a busy kitchen. Good knowledge of food safety management systems and experience of supervising a team are also essential for someone to succeed in this key role.
