We’re now looking for a Catering Assistant to join our busy Catering Department at Castle Espie Wetland Centre, working on a part-time basis. Castle Espie is just a short drive from Comber and easily commutable from Newtownards, Belfast and Bangor.

In this varied role, you will play a key part in the day-to-day running of our picturesque restaurant, the Kingfisher Kitchen.
Nestled in a quiet corner on the North West shore of Strangford Lough, the Kingfisher Kitchen offers unrivalled views of wonderful wildlife, as well as home-cooked hearty breakfasts, seasonal specials and a range of quality Fairtrade teas and coffees.
As part of our Catering Team, you’ll not only have the chance to make an impact on our visitor experience, you’ll also support our wildlife conservation efforts, as the profits we generate are reinvested back into our charity.
What will I be doing?
As a Catering Assistant, you will help to deliver a high-quality catering service at Castle Espie Wetland Centre.
Reporting to the Catering Manager, you will:
- Provide excellent front of house customer service
- Help with food preparation tasks
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety
What do I need?
While no experience is required, to join us as a Catering Assistant, you’ll need:
- Good communication skills
- A positive attitude
- The ability to work well as part of a team
Some experience of working in a catering environment would be beneficial, as would GCSEs (or equivalent).
