Are you passionate about connecting children with nature?

WWT are looking for an enthusiastic Project Manager to work on our ground-breaking new project, Generation Wild.

Generation Wild is a new project aiming to engage disadvantaged children and their families with nature. It will offer free visits to our wetland centres for children attending schools in disadvantaged areas. We will then work with these children’s families and teachers, upskilling and empowering them to offer further nature-based experiences back in their local community. This will include free family visits to our centres, the development of innovative on-site activities to engage school groups and families, teacher training and an online platform to promote further activity within school grounds, gardens and local greenspaces.

The Role

You will work with a friendly and committed team of educators who share your passion for working with young people, extending our school visits programme (which welcomes over 40,000 learners per year) to disadvantaged young people who may not otherwise benefit from this opportunity.

You will have a chance to work with an innovative experience design company to embed truly exciting and engaging ways of connecting these young people and their families with nature through nature-based play and learning. You will manage an online platform that will support and encourage these families as they extend these nature-based activities into their gardens and local greenspaces.

With a chance to make the most of our fantastic wetland centres, you will make a real difference, nurturing a love of nature that will stay with these children throughout their lives. Join us and together we can inspire the next generation of nature lovers.

About You

We are looking for someone with a real passion for connecting disadvantaged communities with nature. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong project management skills including the ability to plan, coordinate and evaluate large scale projects and to manage a significant budget. They need to be an excellent communicator, able understand the needs of a wide diversity of stakeholders from children, parents and teachers to other WWT departments, funders and external contractors.

- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)                                              - Contributory pension scheme (conditions apply)
- Life assurance
