The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) is a conservation charity that protects wetlands for wildlife and people. We conserve, restore and create wetlands. We are pioneers in saving wetland wildlife, both in the UK and around the world. At our 10 UK sites around a million visitors a year engage with wetland nature. We work internationally in key global wetland areas, balancing conservation with sustainable livelihoods and influencing national and international conservation policies.

The Role

The Learning team at WWT Slimbridge has an excellent reputation for its outdoor, enquiry based, interactive learning sessions. Coupled with the Centres new exhibits, renowned collection of birds, mammals and amphibians, visits are even more memorable, enjoyable and educationally sound. As part of the team you will assist with the development, delivery and evaluation of our varied learning sessions.

Other duties include taking and managing bookings, assisting with pre-visits and teacher taster events, facilitating the Centres work experience programme and carrying out simple maintenance tasks within learning areas across the Centre. Occasionally you will also assist with the delivery and evaluation of Centre’s engagement events during school holidays.

About You

The successful candidate will have a proven customer service ability gained within a visitor attraction. The ability to communicate with people at all levels is essential. Knowledge of natural history / environmental / conservation issues and experience of delivering learning sessions is desirable. Please note that regular weekend working and bank holidays are a requirement of this role.
